  • Monthly patient scorecards facilitating improved patient outcomes month over month and individualized care
  • 93 percent of DaVita patients are satisfied with the quality of care they receive at our centers

Our partner physicians are continuously striving to design advanced patient care programs to make kidney care effective as well as affordable to all patients.

DaVita’s approach to clinical outcomes

Patient care at DaVita begins with consistent tracking of clinical outcomes. It is this approach that sets us apart from other dialysis providers. Consequently, outcomes are measured prior to your first dialysis at DaVita, to gauge the baseline value against various parameters such as permanent access, anemia, dialysis adequacy, fluid management, and albumin levels. This helps us understand your status, and, along with your nephrologist and renal dietician, we roadmap your next 90 days. During this time, tests are repeated during day 30, 60 and 90 to track progress and, accordingly, alter your dialysis and nutrition program.

Our own dialysis academy which trains the technicians for a year using the curriculum from DaVita USA, including:

Continuous quality improvement process (CQI)

  • i) Monthly patient audit
  • ii) Tracking of outcomes
  • iii) Individualized patient improvement plans

Patient score card

  • i) The significance of patient scorecard
  • ii) The link between patient score card and continuous quality improvement (CQI)

DaVita is also involved in clinical research in order to enhance knowledge about kidney disease management. DaVita Clinical Research® (DCR®) is a specialty contract research organization (CRO) that operates in the U.S. and Europe with the goal to discover new ways of treating kidney disease and improve patient outcomes and mortality rates among patients. The results of the research programs are put into practice in our clinical settings.
