Preparation
  • 1. Chop onion, chilies and curry leaves. Add salt and baking soda and mix well.

  • 2. Mix Bengal gram flour, rice flour and melted margarine.

  • 3. Combine all ingredients (except oil) and mix to the consistency of a loose dough by gradually adding small amounts of water as needed.

  • 4. Heat the oil. Transfer small amounts of the dough into the oil. Cook until crisp and brown.

Helpful Hints
  • Chickpea flour is also called gram flour.

  • Reduce salt to 1/4 teaspoon or omit completely for a lower sodium snack.
